Iain Duncan Smith Greeted with Shouts of ‘Murderer’ as he visits Ipswich.
Earlier in the day.
We had a long wait for Iain Duncan Smith (IDS) yesterday (we began at 9 o’clock) but he finally arrived at “MyGo” Ipswich at 5.00 pm, accompanied by Ben Gummer, before heading off to a £45 a head Tory fund raising dinner in Melton.
This Tory Party stunt received a hostile welcome from many people.
Members of DPAC (Disabled People Against Cuts) from Suffolk and Norfolk, and Suffolk Peoples Assembly made sure the message that his term of office as Work & Pensions Minister has been a disaster for people with disabilities and should be terminated immediately came over loud and clear.
As we stood many Ipswich people came up and told us their own stories of how IDS has made their lives worse.
Cries of ‘murderer’ greeted the Tory Toff as he was spotted in the building.
So effective was this messaging that the tv interview they were trying to conduct had to be moved from room to room within the building – only for DPAC banners and renewed chanting to pop up outside the window of each successive refuge.
We think they might have had to hide in the broom cupboard to complete the footage!
The report on Look East (BBC) mentioned that a “small group of protesters tried to disrupt the visit.”
They showed the Proud Banner of Suffolk DPAC in the window of the room where he’d finally scurried to.

Brighton man says Jobcentre is making it harder for him to find work.
A Brighton man has accused the Jobcentre of victimising him and making it harder for him to find work.
Unemployed copywriter Peter Styles, 43, raised his concerns after being told to sign on each day and was then “sanctioned” – had benefit payments withheld.
He has since made an official complaint and started a blog which has attracted tens of thousands of hits and which has been reported in The Guardian.
His story has also been covered by Latest TV – see below.
In his first blog entry Mr Styles wrote: “I have been actively seeking work for a year since the company I was working for ceased trading.
“Recently I was ordered to sign on a daily basis – a measure I took objection to.
“Despite this, I continued to diligently look for work while voicing my opposition to Iain Duncan Smith’s draconian and ill-thought out measures.
“On (Friday) 7 November I was sanctioned by Brighton Jobcentre despite 67 (yes folks that’s 67) separate jobseeking actions in the last fortnight.
“I believe I have been singled out for discrimination for daring to object to government policy.
“I have appealed against this decision and put in an official complaint but am looking to raise awareness of this case and seek a review of the powers DWP staff have to make their ‘clients’ comply with their unreasonable wishes under the current Work Programme.”
In a follow-up entry Mr Styles wrote: “Over the last year since losing my job I’ve been applying for up to 15 jobs a day, securing at least an interview a month and doing whatever I could to free myself from an increasingly precarious financial position.
“I have a good degree and an arguably impressive work record stretching back 20 years but that elusive appointment seemed just out of my grasp.
“Just over two weeks ago I was told at a fortnightly signing that I would be forced to attend and sign every day.
“I objected to this and said it would be completely counterproductive and demoralising but the law is the law and the DWP staff seemed only too willing to carry out Iain Duncan Smith’s ill-thought out, vindictive and distinctly unhelpful measures.
“I made my opposition to daily signing obvious to staff and, though I may have been brusque and irritated by this massive invasion into my personal freedom and movement, did not swear at the workers.
“Their response to my passive opposition? To be ordered to sign alone in the screened area every day, being made to feel like some kind of offender.”
Mr Styles has been signed off with stress for a month by his doctor which has made him ineligible for jobseekers allowance.

And we could be forgiven for thinking that this is part of the agenda. Who can forget the meetings with the far right in Brussels? At the time, about 2010, this was reported in the Guardian but no one seemed to really care or perhaps did not believe what they were seeing. I felt we were in danger then and I can see that my instincts were right. The final solution- it is not fiction by the looks.

The Tories have always done this. Half of Ireland died of starvation not so far back in history. The Workhouse and New Poor Law killed 5 million in the 19th Century.

Labour offer to be even harder on welfare reform than the Tories and continue Tory spending cuts. Mr Balls says this time and time again. The clue is in the name – The Conservative Party – Hence ‘Conserve’
Their ideals in making any policy is to make savings in as many area’s as possible regarding monetary input (Taxes) to monetary output on any level.
That’s what they want in their overall vision for the future. (that was their original mandate)
But now they have become money hungry (invest in anything for themselves, made directors of companies) millionaire assholes who just want to make as much money as possible whilst in government, and the firms will let them do this because to be endorsed by a current MP or have one on the board (even though they only attend board meetings 30 days per year) is very lucrative, I would imagine, for both parties.

Universal Credit to get major expansion as Iain Duncan Smith slams ‘spendthrift’ Labour.
The Coalition’s flagship benefits reform programme will be dramatically expanded, Iain Duncan Smith will say on Tuesday.
Universal Credit will be in one of three Jobcentres by spring while families will get up to 85 per cent of childcare costs covered by the scheme, the Work and Pensions Secretary will announce.

Families in Merseyside will be among the first to be affected by the Government’s controversial welfare reform Universal Credit as the new scheme is rolled out in selected areas today.

Labour will ban Jobcentre claim-reduction quotas.
Labour would scrap any targets for Jobcentre Plus staff to reduce or stop a certain number of benefit claims, the party has announced.
An increase in such “benefit sanctions” has been cited as one reason why more people are visiting food banks. Although the Government denies setting a national target to cut a proportion of handouts, leaked reports from individual Jobcentres suggest that some targets have been set locally.
Rachel Reeves, the shadow Work and Pensions Secretary, said: “We have seen an exceptional rise in the proportion of people sanctioned – with one in four sanctions overturned on appeal. The Government has refused to provide any explanation of this increase – but numerous sources have reported that the increase is being driven by unofficial targets imposed on Jobcentres by the Department of Work and Pensions.
“That’s why we have pledged that there will be no targets for sanctions under a Labour government, so that Jobcentre staff are focused on helping people into work, not simply finding reasons to kick them off benefits. We will also ensure that rules and decisions around sanctions are fair and properly communicated, and that the system of hardship payments is working properly.”
The Public and Commercial Service Union has called for and end to “the target culture” for sanction referrals. It said that some 23 per cent of its members had an explicit target for referrals, while 81 per cent had an “expectation” level.

Digital service to handle universal credit untried, already delayed and glitch could cost £2.8bn in staff costs, says audit office.
The report, issued on Wednesday, completes a miserable 24 hours for the welfare secretary, Iain Duncan Smith, who was forced to admit to parliament that the scheme, which was supposed to be fully implemented by 2017, WILL NOT BE READY BEFORE THE END OF THE DECADE.
Rachel Reeves, the shadow work and pensions secretary, said the NAO had cast grave doubts over the future of universal credit. “The National Audit Office report is further evidence that the government’s handling of universal credit has been disastrous. It’s neither on time or on budget as the government promised,” she said.
