Abuse of Claimants, DWP Manager, “We should nominate one person to throw a grenade in.”

Universal Credit staff taped making disgusting comments about claimants

Mirror.

EXCLUSIVE: One member of staff was recorded saying disabled people were “faking it” to get government cash

Benefits managers have been caught on tape making horrifying comments about claimants.

One advocated blowing them up with a grenade, another accused them of getting money for nothing while the disabled were accused of “faking it.”

In one disturbing taped conversation a manager says: “The police sometimes have sting operations where they gather people together.

“We should nominate one person to throw a grenade in.”

Another reveals a case manager railing at claimants, who can be out of work because of ill health.

They rant: “It does my head in. They’re getting something for nowt, they don’t really have to do a great deal to get it. And they still whinge.”

Another says they “have absolutely no time” for claimants with depression and anxiety.

Today the incompetent  lazy bones managers  at the DWP are shown up.

DWP Universal Credit: 700 ‘suspected errors’ flagged by one council in 18 months

Mirror.

EXCLUSIVE: Labour-run Tower Hamlets demanded the DWP halt the benefit’s rollout after compiling the figures for 18 months

More than 700 “suspected errors” in Universal Credit have been flagged in 18 months by a single town hall.

Labour-run Tower Hamlets began compiling the figures in April 2018 over fears the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) was not dealing robustly enough with problems.

Since then the deprived London borough’s officers have reported 728 cases to the DWP – identifying £335,000 in alleged overpayments and £215,000 in underpayments.

Officials claimed some cases took months and several attempts to contact the DWP before they were resolved.

The Borough’s mayor John Biggs said: “The roll out of Universal Credit should be halted. It’s failing our most vulnerable residents and pushing them into hardship.

“It’s simply not good enough that these blunders continue.”

Deputy Mayor Rachel Blake added: “The continuing errors we are seeing due to Universal Credit show it’s not fit for purpose.

Not to mention the present mess find ourselves in:

This has always struck people as inevitable.

Poverty is rising for all groups – even those in work – according to a new financial inclusion monitor report.

Research from the University of Birmingham and the University of Lincoln shows nearly 1.6 million people falling behind with council tax payments, with six in ten people in the poorest fifth of the population reporting they are in problem debt – mainly council tax payments, rent or utility bills.

Nearly 1 million people are behind with their rent, while over a 1 million people are behind on water bills.

The 2019 Briefing, found that nearly 2.2 million people report having been contacted by bailiffs and nearly one million experiencing bailiffs breaking the rules.

A growing number of personal insolvencies were also highlighted, with over 70,000 Individual Voluntary Arrangements (formal alternative to bankruptcy) made in 2018, up from 40,000 in 2015.

Karen Rowlingson, Professor of Social Policy and Deputy Director of the Centre on Household Assets and Savings Management (CHASM) at the University of Birmingham and co-author of the report, said: “The government is saying that austerity is over but our research shows that millions of people are still struggling to pay essential bills.

“Much more needs to be done to increase income levels to help people make ends meet.”

    • You have to realise that DWP staff go on training courses and a bombarded by propaganda while at work and while training which colours the way they view benefit claimants. Some prejudice is innate but a lot of it is cultivated deliberately by the powers that be to “encourage” DWP employees to have certain attitudes in respect to the people they deal with on a daily basis.

  7. It’s no excuse for this disgraceful behaviour by DWP staff, but they are under constant pressure to conform to the Tory view that welfare reform was greatly needed. In particular the attitude of claimants towards getting a job. From the moment they login in the morning, and find their inbox full of the latest DWP propaganda, to the daily morning briefing, staff meetings and personal appraisals. they are subjected to this stream of psychological pressure. All these combative attitudes are the direct result of the changes brought in under Duncan Smith. Inevitably, for some of these advisors, Claimant Contempt is a real problem.

It is high time we stopped conflating ‘conditions’ such as ‘depression’, ‘anxiety’ and stress with actual physical, limiting disabilities. We should also distinguish between self-inflicted health conditions and unavoidable illnesses. The general public don’t buy it. Pre-WCA (Work Capability Assessments) the joke down the pub was: “They are two things they can’t prove: depression and a bad back 😀 ” The joke was on the taxpayer for too long. Now the tables have turned.

The only people who can afford to go into town is Blue Badge holders who don’t have to pay the exorbitant parking charges that those of us who don’t suffer with crippling ‘disabilities’ as ‘stress’, ‘anxiety’ and ‘depression’ have to. And it is not just the Blue Badge holders who get use their free Nissan Qashqai, it is their friends and relatives too. And not just Nissan Qashqais, you will see brand-new BMW, Range Rovers, Audis, even Porsches and Ferraris with a Blue Badge. Some people really do know how to play the system. The sad thing is that it is always those ‘proud’-types, the ones who ‘do the right thing’ who end up on their uppers. Anyway, the Blue Badge scheme is a joke. It is time the DWP and ATOS looked into it.

The sooner we rid Parliament of these awful hateful people the better. The Remoanic Establishment tries everything it can to destabilise Boris Johnson and our lawfully elected government. Everything they do will make Boris Johnson stronger and give us a bigger majority at the inevitable general election.
The hatred in the eyes of these so called respectable Parliamentarians is beyond comprehension. And Nicola Sturgeon is no better -at what point did she have any say over how our NATIONAL PARLIAMENT works? She does NOT. She should stick with (badly) running Scotchland and hopefully the Scotch people will be sensible enough to reduce the SNP representation at Westminster to a far smaller number by replacing them with decent hard working Conservative MPs.
MPs should back off whilst the PM and his team attempt to negotiate a deal with the United States of Europe. Whether it succeeds or not, is anyone’s guess, but they should at least allow him to try. After all, the SURRENDER ACT only kicks in after 18 October when (in the event of a failure to agree a deal) an extension has to apparently be requested. Juncker and Barnier have no doubt written 31 December 2199 AD on their draft document already and are rubbing their hands in glee. They will FAIL, Corbyn will FAIL. Starmer, Souby and Dominic Grieve will FAIL. Brexit is happening with or without a deal. Brexit here we come 😀 ”

The only thing that would make me laugh more is if Boris refused to write a letter requesting an extension of Britain’s membership of the EU, as demanded by law, and after being found guilty of contempt of courts was given a custodial sentence and had to do a stretch of porridge in the chokey. He would always be remembered as the only Prime Minister to shack up in 10 Downing Street with his lover, while still married to another woman with whom he fathered four children, who was found guilty of a crime and jailed while still in office! Now THAT really would make me laugh my socks off and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Boris will become the first Brexit martyr sent to clink for breaking the law.

I can’t say for sure whether Brexit will happen someday but am sure that it WON’T happen in 2019 unless the EU itself, sick to death with the bleating of our small island nation, refuses to grant a further extension by the end of the month!

What is ignoring the Benn Act in comparison? It wouldn’t even be a criminal court Boris would appear in, it would be a civil matter. The Benn Act 😀 , bet Alex Salmond wishes he was charged with ignoring the Benn Act rather than 2 attempted rapes, 9 sexual assaults, 3 indecent assaults and one breach of the peace, The Benn Act is up there with TV licence ‘evasion’. Oh, look everyone who voted in 2016 is now dead. The current make-up of the House of Commons have no intention of voting for a ‘deal’ even if Boris came back from Brussels with the Moon and the stars they would still vote it down. For whatever reason they patently don’t want Brexit to happen in any way, shape or from. Probably Boris doesn’t either.
If Brexit gets brushed under the carpet though any semblance of ‘democracy’ in the UK is effectively dead. It sets a dangerous precedent. The UK would be only a stone’s throw from anarchy. I have an appointment , the roach arrives a few minutes late, but still takes time to chat with another roach, laughing at whatever is on his screen, before finally taking his seat and summening me over.
Can’t imagine any shop staff treating a customer like that at the till.
Maybe in prison , or at a police interrogation…

    • Most coaches are running behind, I was waiting for my advisor to phone me up, last week, because the job centre had a fire alarm drill.

Thankfully I don’t have to go into the arena of the job centre very often now being on uc and getting a fit note from my doctors, telling the job centre about my health conditions.

  26. Universal Credit branded ‘catastrophe’ as Wakefield families wait too long to be paid

Senior Labour councillors have piled into Universal Credit, which they say has left some desperate families facing “catastrophe”.

“18,659 people in Wakefield are now on Universal Credit. I see that as 18,659 people potentially in a lot of debt.

“I pay tribute to all those volunteers out there helping people struggling with this Universal Credit. It’s a crisis and it should be abolished.”

  27. Tory Chat Bots love to chat about being up Boris Johnson’s Arse & are far removed from reality. The competition is who is going to mal-function in reality because it is a windy day & chat bots can’t compute reality.

  28. Unfortunately with Labour’s current polling results, they have as much chance of winning an election as the 100-1 outsider at the Grand National. In which case Universal Credit will be around for years to come.

Plymouth councillors blame Government cuts for the worsening health gap between rich and poor

“blamed benefit changes with the introduction of Universal Credit and “savage” cuts to public health funding.

She said: “Public health becomes more and more important every year as the gap in inequality continues to grow.

“Prior to the austerity imposed by this Government there was good evidence that that inequality gap was reducing, but this now seems to be reversing.”

  32. These zero-hour contract, self-employed ‘gig economy’ ‘jobs’ that this site keeps bigging up are a crock of shit. You don’t get any holidays (not even public holidays), sick pay, maternity leave, you haven’t got a pension to look forward. Plus if you take a day off the bastards FINE you like £150 – £250 quid. Doesn’t matter if it is for a hospital appointment of or a funeral etc. And if you lose or break the fucking machine or it gets stolen it is going to cost you an arm an a leg. Fuck these jobs, they are shit.
