Stephen Crabb has launched his bid for the Tory leadership promising no snap election and no second EU referendum.
The Preseli Pembrokeshire MP and work and pensions secretary said stability was his aim, warning that fresh polls would simply create more uncertainty.
Mr Crabb rejected claims he was prejudiced against gay people, after his opposition to same-sex marriage.
The contest was triggered when Prime Minister David Cameron announced he would resign after the Brexit vote.
Who is Stephen Crabb? Bearded Welshman with controversial views on homosexuality.
This is believed to be his biggest rival:

Probably going to get worse. Exiting the EU will mean that the British economy will lose inward investment, shrink, and end up mush less prosperous and wealthy. If the country wants to remain in the single market not much will be able to change as far as immigration is concerned. If we leave the single market, well, God alone knows what the heck will happen. Certainly much less money will be available for everything domestically. (Including the mythical £325 million supposedly saved to be redirected to the NHS, which will probably now have less spent on it than before.) I doubt whether any budget will be able to be protected although social security, being the biggest, will be expected to make substantial savings.
God help us all.
It’s a pity that the Bremainers will have to suffer for something the Brexiters caused.

Man who had benefits stopped illegally gets DWP refund – and now others could make a claim
A man whose benefits were stopped illegally by the Department of Work and Pensions has won a refund – three years later.
The case could trigger a flood of similar claims.
Simon Milne received a letter from the DWP in November saying it had not given him a fair chance to respond to allegations about his work-search record.
The letter said: “A check of our records indicates that we may not have given you formal written notification of this decision. A formal letter would also have given you information about the steps you could take to appeal.”
Simon contacted the Salford Unemployed Resource Centre in Eccles after getting the letter.
Now a judge has ruled he should get a refund for the benefits that were sanctioned illegally in 2012.

Your a victim of what you interpreted from your past. Had he had been born now, he only would have witnessed his father get declared fit for work but not before being sanctioned and his mother sanctioned all because the buses ran late or she had problems at school.
Crabbs view would have been massively different to what he recants from the 70s a time when people were taught to be self sufficient, a trait nolonger taught in schools who have for decades preached reliance on others.
What i would like to know is what his father did for work before he signed on sickness benefit, thatchers ploy remember to hide mass unemployment.

So what will brexit mean for claimants ?
Well as many have already seen, the pound has dropped in relation to other currencies. This means goods from abroad are now more expensive. Naturally businesses will pass on that cost meaning goods will go up.
Currently the view is to cut more public services one of which will no doubt be welfare, the constant scapegoat for everything our banks, businesses and now working public mess up on.
If struggling was already a factor, its set if situations don’t change to pale in comparison to what may well wing its way towards us. Im also imagining another wave of mass sanctions, more people who most certainly aren’t told their fit for work and a continual slide of full time secure work (so no temp full time) that even before brexit was on its way down while part time and self employment increased.

Reminds me of my teenage daughter having a strop about parental authority, failing to notice that the people exercising that authority feed, clothe, shelter her and keep her safe from harm. The only freedom the British people look like winning is the freedom to see their nation decline more quickly and freedom for the rich and powerful to propagate more much more difficulty and suffering amongst the poor, helpless and most needy.
My favourite daftest reason I heard for people leaving the EU was the one about “repatriating” £325 million a week from Europe to invest in the National Health Service. Which was 100% a lie. What is actually going to happen is that LESS investment will be made in the NHS because a contracting British economy will eventually become too small to allow such investment to continue.
As far as Brexit goes the lunatics well and truly took over the asylum.

It seems no matter where you are on this planet, far to many people are seeking to subvert democracy and the right of expression. These Nobel laureates are trying to get Europe’s governments to ignore Greenpeace when considering GMOs. So forceful are these people they suggest rather forcefully, will people have to die before we call Greenpeace actions a crime against humanity. If theirs one group that notion does not fit its Greenpeace but so desperate are GMO developers that they will resort to any tactic including very tall unsubstantiated stories.
The bits that leave a particular bad taste in my mouth is this falsely claimed we care about poor people, that mysteriously seem in their version of events, to be the only ones who will suffer. One minute their kicking us in the teeth while on the other their declaring their undying love for us, that every thing they do is for us.
Funny i don’t remember seeing these Nobel laureates protesting against welfare cuts , moaning how UK prisons aren’t fit for purpose or how our kids are getting stressed and depressed with the new education regime.

Theresa May’s claim she won’t call a general election if she becomes prime minister is probably a way of building bridges with Conservative MPs concerned that they could lose their seats, political scientist Professor John Curtice says.

The European Union’s top trade official says the UK cannot begin negotiating terms for doing business with the bloc until after it has left.
“First you exit then you negotiate,” Cecilia Malmstrom told BBC Newsnight.
After Brexit, the UK would become a “third country” in EU terms, she said – meaning trade would be carried out based on World Trade Organisation rules until a new deal was complete.
A recent trade deal with Canada took seven years to negotiate.
The Canadian agreement will also require ratification by all EU countries, adding another one to two years before it takes effect.

This is bullshit! Steven Crabb didn’t vote for a £30 a week cut to disabled people’s income! He voted for a cut to Malingerer’s Handout (ESA). How many of the shirkers on the “benefit” whom you see in the pubs and bookies are disabled? “Oh, I suffer from “depression and anxiety, give me another £30 a week on top of what jobseekers get”. Malingerer’s Allowance should be scrapped. Malingerers (ESA recipients) should receive the same rate as JSA. Fuck these lazy useless bastards!

Quite a while back i mentioned a phrase being coined by judges in courts when dealing with increasing shoplifting of essential items that at the time media hadn’t caught on to. That phrase judges started using was “survival crime”, a trend they saw developing throughout the court system country wide whereby some people without benefits, usually as a result of a sanction or heavy delays in processing a claim would result to stealing items like food and nappies for instance to name but two types.
Well it appears rather than be typecast it looks like its gained a new criminal friend in the form of benefit fraud. More and more we hear from the docks that everyday people with NO PRIOR CRIMINAL PAST/CONVICTIONS are or have been resorting to benefit fraud in order to make ends meet.
WORTHY of note HOWEVER is it appears a lot have began committing fraud after this Tory government completely overhauled the fraud system to make it tighter and fraud free RATHER than before. Now im sure DWP and Tory alike will claim something like, ” they did it in the past but we cant get them on it” BUT its a little odd when some of these cases date back as far as 2008 with a very very few being back as far as 2004.
Also WORTHY of note is how the accused often seems perfectly acceptant not only of the crime but also of the punishment or risk of when weighed against their monetary concerns.
Now luckily because imprisonment costs the taxpayer so much and the accused often have very little if anything at all in terms of money, sentences tend to be more community service than prison cell based.
This allowed me the opportunity to go speak with people in various community groups so i could hopefully get the chance to speak to people convicted of benefit fraud and it was successful.
What i gleaned was my thoughts on the matter were quite correct including one thing that validates an old member of ipswich unemployed actions website, that post 2010, crime really does pay better than benefits, that criminals fair better than claimants.
The first thing i noted off the bat was none were the slightest bit remorseful with all through different choice of words citing need outweighed compliancy. When asked the question would you do it again, all cited they didn’t really want to do it in the first place but need took hold which they said was quite driven so while they wouldn’t want to, they couldn’t say for sure they wouldn’t do it again if the need arose. Interestingly they all stated it was never meant to be a long thing, that in the beginning they saw and planned it as a temporary thing but one thing lead to another and bingo it just seemed acceptable after a time to continue. When asked did their situations change and while some said yes, most said life didn’t improve and after a time made the amount obtained from fraud necessary to continue in order to survive.

Hmmm, sounds more like a matter of money and exploitation than care for one of the oldest professions on the planet. Im not surprised its been bought up by MPs as no doubt the majority of are a part of this 2.3 million figure.
The first thing in the article we hear unsurmountable odds at getting other work, well thats a problem for cannabis smokers who have been caught with some on their persons or having so much, the mistake has been made their dealing when infact that’s how their dealer gave it to them in the first place. The article goes on about the revenue they produce and more.
Now if it was decriminalized this is what will happen in time.
1: It would normalize prostitution in short time as a job no different from modelling say.
2: DWP already guilty of this in the past, may well once again demand claimants accept offers of sex work.
3: It would like the proceeds of crime again inflate the countries GDP.
4: The tax office would begin enforced registration of all sex workers for tax and NI purposes.
5: Low a portion of the unemployed claimant count with a view to increase if DWP declare sex work as acceptable.
As it stands although at constant risk to sex workers of being arrested, currently a sex worker can ply their trade and still claim benefits without being cited for fraud as crimes aren’t seen as gainful work so aren’t warranted as a change of circumstances.
WORTHY OF NOTE IN PARTING
On this very site a member cited a short while back while talking about why is one partner financially responsible for the other if not married and or no kids, they mentioned some women claim benefit and while doing so date men and gain from them financially despite not living together.
WELL IF PROSTITUTION BECOMES LEGAL, that very point quite well made would be seen as proceeds from sex meaning even if you have a partner who does not live with you, that you may have even only known one day, that you STILL HAVE TO REPORT THIS PERSONS RELATIONSHIP TO YOU AND WHAT THEY GAVE AS A CHANGE OF CIRCUMSTANCE.

OT: Your Information and DWP
Before I get into it – I urge everyone unemployed or on UC to request from DWP a SAR (Standard Access Request) under the Information Act on data held on themselves from any/all sources. This move is to protect yourself from harm via a Sanction you cannot argue against by DWP Managers doing something you are unaware of.
Well today was interesting in several ways.
I now know what the next move by these Fraks was going to be to apply a Sanction and it was a sneaky one.
I have learned that DWPs “Document Repository System” (DRS) [This is the system onto which all documents you supply are scanned and uploaded onto] is completely blank with regards to myself.
– So, the pre-harassment documents are gone.
– complaint letters
– All other information like things about my Doctor/Hospital attendance are gone.
– Finally there is no trace of my Claimant Commitment. i.e. I do not have one!
– Oh and nothing about me recording and DWP subsequently sending a letter saying it was illegal.
To be clear just how serious this is Ms F, you know the one who was unable to explain “If you supply your email job applications we will get you a job” stated that lack of a CC meant that I would be up for a Sanction.
When I pointed out that other stuff was missing with personal info on it I was told “well I am sure it is not in a place it shouldn’t be” I pointed out that made no sense as it was specifically not in the place it SHOULD be. Got back silence. Question of Sanction was not brought up again. Once again, unique treatment.
Having been responsible for Inf Act compliance in a official capacity I know how serious this is due to the following : only a senior officer has access to deleting information of this kind and deletion is a criminal offence as it is official data & on top of that a Inf. Act breach. I can only sum this up in one word. Insane.
Watch your backs people.

Claimants DON’T have to allow DWP to copy and retain their work search evidence.
Its a form of processing and as such comes under DPA in terms of a data subject controlling the flow of their personal and or sensitive data.
A claimant can reasonably and legally demonstrate compliancy with their CC by JUST presenting for viewing purposes only their work search data for verification. Its utterly pointless to retain such data if DWP cannot legally mandate a claimant to keep the originals. Any meeting their after on such evidence will be biased towards the claimant especially if their CC has changed over time in terms of requirements. A claimant at a time from their past may have been less able at work searching like say no good with computers or unaware as to the extent of the jobs mediums available so in the first instance may have been unaware of some really good jobsite say. Then theirs what was the job market like at the time, how does a claimant explain their wasn’t that many jobs about then, how does he explain the amounts of portals and fakes on UJM and other sites, how does he explain and prove say a DPA disagreement with a jobsite or employer.
I could go on all day why such retention is pointless BUT I WOULD RATHER SAY,
a PERSON/CLAIMANT is full within their rights to abstain from such an agreement that cannot be mandated by law without conflicting with another.
This MEANS as long as you do not consent to it legally at any stage of your claim, DWP cannot insist even through threat of sanction that you comply as viewing said data honors and fulfills the conditions set out by law.

My inbox is already being spammed, not by the DWP but by all the job sites I’ve been forced to register with to apply for posts. Universal Jobmatch hardly ever allows you to apply for a job directly; normally you get redirected to another site here you have to register and upload your data to apply for a vacancy. These sites then send you emails listing jobs that, in my case anyway, are too far away to travel to on a daily basis and often that I couldn’t do anyway.
Best thing to do is to refuse access to your UJM account to the DWP.

Man charged over Inverurie work placement death
A man has been charged after schoolboy on work placement died following an industrial accident in Aberdeenshire.
Michael McLean, 17, was fatally injured at Denholm Oilfield Services in Inverurie in August last year.
Michael, from Kincorth in Aberdeen, was on his last day of a summer placement.

For starters it was over 4 years meaning this person only defrauded around £3’687 in any one year which is less than unemployment benefit. Carers generally average £7.20 to £8.45 an hour dependent on qualifications and experience and as your see if you investigate most position are on a pro rata basis, meaning PART TIME.
Now its said the average person earns £20’000 per annum but in the care industry your make if lucky excluding non contracted hours £16’500 per year despite having a duty of care (legally responsible for their patients welfare while present).
In other words if you work behind a desk doing admin and mess up, your could get sacked, mess up as a carer and you could end up in court and worse still prison. Don’t you think such a risk deserves a reward ?

Parliament cant knock down the referendum vote, that’s unlawful. They can however delay progress as all they can really decide is whether or not the article 50 is triggered correctly and favorably.
Again it would be undemocratic to overrule the public’s decision be it wrong or right.

UK now in Freeze due to vote – any projects that have been given the ok are due to continue to completion.
However does anyone know if WP & its replacement had its funding okayed before the vote?
I do not remember seeing anything about that, especially as its replacement is/was at the definition stage.
If that is correct WP just took another knock as I understand EU provided 1/3rd of its funding. If this is correct the current £350Mil is now down to £220/240Mil.
I am left wondering what else that the EU was quietly funding which is also going to be effected.

The results of Sats tests taken in primary schools in England, due to be published on Tuesday, should not be compared with previous years, says Education Secretary Nicky Morgan.
The tests have been made tougher and Mrs Morgan says lower results should not be interpreted as a decline in performance by pupils.
“They simply cannot be compared directly,” says Mrs Morgan.
Heads have called for this year’s test results not to be published.
Mrs Morgan’s warning comes in advance of the publication of results from Sats tests taken by 11-year-olds, which this year have been made more difficult and based on a new curriculum.
“I expect critics of the new primary curriculum will be quick to try and suggest that any lower results are evidence of a failure of the system,” says Mrs Morgan.

Well if they looked at what they actually sanction people for im sure they would figure out WHY. People are late by five minutes all day everyday working or not so how can one expect a person to learn a lesson absolute millions in the UK do every single day in the workplace.
Then theirs not enough work search evidence. Well this is a classic case of, “how long is a piece of string” as trully you cant put a level on it.
Then theirs not attending government schemes. Well it was obvious from flexi new deals outcomes under labour that these schemes just keep the employment sector going but not those who walk through their doors. As a contrast claimants who enroll in a part time college course not government approved have a extremely low attendance rate and even then its the odd day and not the downward spiral we see on government schemes.
At the end of the day all sanctions do is cause hate and dispondent behavior towards DWP, the complete opposite of what Tories claim they want.
Keep nudging government as i suspect it wont be to long before a DWP worker get seriously hurt or god forbid loses their life in a American still assassination such as that, that befell MP Cox.
They say DWP workers are also subject to the same sanctions who claim UC, i wonder how attentive they will be if sanctioned ?

Actually Iris although DWP dont care to mention it but their are funds to help pay for the travel cost to an interview BUT not if its local as in same place as the DWP your applying to.
As long as you printout the employers interview date letter as proof, also printout the cost of travel, technically DWP has to award you the fare. I wont kid you though, its still like extracting teeth.

Well its a double edge sword as in the case of London by insuring those living outside cant secure work, government insures the capital has low to mid skill workers to service the highly qualified.
Its only natural when living in an area that you would look for work in said area to lower work costs. This would surely cripple London but then again its long over dew the elite wiped their own backsides.
Government will i suspect only concentrate on areas that don’t effect large cities meaning their probably do bugger all.
Its not usual for me to make much of think tanks but their research is quite correct.Government hide truths in only showing averages of the whole country as though it was one but do your homework and your see much of what they say actually doesn’t hold up to the light, a truth i just wish the public would wake up to.

That was so made i reckon in desperation in the wake of the brexit vote as its exactly Monday morning, a mere single weekend after the brexit vote and Camerons resignation.
We knew cutting benefit amounts generally was never going to be accepted what with the service already cut to the bone so it would appear on the surface anyway that if sanctions increased that government would indeed make a sizable saving.
PREEMPTIVE WARNING TO ALL CLAIMANTS: Ignore the signs saying no recording and treat all advisor/work coaches including providers as UNDER SUSPICION OF FRAUD AND ABUSE OF POWER AND POSITION. DWP employees lose all rights to privacy under the data protection meaning you are free to record without their LEGAL CONSENT meaning the claimant does not have to inform the employee that they are being recorded when under such a suspicion of a crime as is titled in part 4, section 29 part 1 of the DPA.
It is ESSENTIAL in the interim to record inorder to protect yourself from false claims made by advisors/work coaches that you are not honoring your CC. It matters NOT if you covertly record or announce you will record as DWP even if they decline your recording equipment MUST MAKE AVAILABLE A RECORD SESSION IF A CLAIMANT DESIRES IT.
PERSONALLY I RECOMMEND COVERTLY RECORDING AS THIS WILL ALLOW ALL OF US TO PREVENT CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR BY OUTING DWP EMPLOYEES AS AND WHEN THEY TRY TO DECEIVE CLAIMANTS.
Also if a sanction is instigated get in document form the advisors/work coaches answer to the question of.
EVENTS LEADING UP TO SANCTION as its simply not enough for a advisor/work coach to state only for instance a failure to look for and apply for work.

I think you will all find the following useful regarding recordings – this is from a legal opinion I have.
denial of legality of abilty to record by dwp/any other organisation.
As Doug indicated above, take what he has written as correct.
DWP/ATOS(any one else, police even) etc has however been known to say you are breaching the human rights act. This Legally this is not the case:
“There are two ways in which human rights are applied by the Human Rights Act 1998.
Firstly, the duty to observe the articles of the convention under the Act only applies directly to public bodies; so it might be wrong for a public authority to tape a conversation, but it would not be wrong under the Act for an individual to do so.
Secondly, in any legal proceedings the courts are required to observe the principles of the Convention. So it has been possible, for example, for individuals to sue newspapers for breach of privacy.
Article 8, the right to respect for private and family life, would be relevant. However, the taping of the conversation by the individual would not be a breach of the Act under the first point above,. For the second point above there would need to be a way of brining proceedings against the individual. As I mentioned previously, there is a obligation of confidence [if an employee] and if there appears to be a breach of that, then an injuction can be applied for and in priniciples of article 8 would be relevant to those proceedings. But you would have to consider what aspect of the Employers private or family life was damaged – and just asking that question makes it clear that it would be very difficult for the employer, if say a public body, to allege a breach of Article 8.
It seems to me therefore that there is very unlikely to be a breach of human rights in this taping by the individual.”

I really don’t see whats to get Enigma (i don’t me you personally) as between me,you,Gazza and hosts upon hosts of other people DWP HAVE NO LEGAL STANDING ON THE MATTER besides
protecting claimants data and data about employees not relevant in the course of their duty like say their payroll number for instance.
NOW what an employee does for a living while in employee so for instance your meeting with them, does not give them any rights to privacy whats so ever ever. However under law they must protect your right to privacy.
Ive said this enough times as has others,
NO BUSINESS, ORGANIZATION, GOVERNMENT, CORPORATION, PUBLIC BODY AND THE LIKES NOR EMPLOYEE OF CAN HAVE NO EXPECTATION TO THE RIGHT OF PRIVACY WHILE IN THE COURSE OF THEIR BUSINESS AND ANY JUDGE WILL TELL YOU THIS.
ONLY in certain cases is this different like say for instance MI5 as it would defeat the object to name their employees if say out in the field.
I offer an open invitation for any claimant to recite WORD FOR WORD exactly what a DWP person said as regards their right to privacy. BUT if all they say is “i have a right to privacy” that is not enough as all that does is talk about a law/regulation/act, it is not exercising or reciting it like say when a person is arrested for instance or is being formally charged.
Then if a claimant can produce this as i described i can say whether or not it holds any legal basis whats so ever AND AS I ALWAYS DO will explain it from A to Z.
By forcing DWP to explain the reasoning behind exercising privacy your probably find as is always often the case if it has any legal merit that DWP have lied or attempted to in order to make it so just like they do when the kid every claimant into believing they must sign up to UJM.

Although you would be hard pressed to prove it, watching you after a meeting has concluded is a breach of the data protection act and article 8 unless they can prove exemption LIKE SUSCIPION OF FRAUD for instance.
DWP or any business can ONLY process your personal and or sensitive data that’s relative to the process of issuing benefits. SO that means only at arranged meetings be they DWP or provider. What you do when you conclude such a meeting is your own private affair and NOT COVERED under the data policy or conditions agreement you made (unless you legally consented to it) with them.
The only way to know for sure if they do record what they see when you leave is to hand in an FOI but rather than be generic and say all, explain what you mean by all data otherwise DWP will mislead you like they do in so many FOI responses by choosing their words carefully as so to speak.
The thing is , is to not let DWP hide behind a suspicion of fraud as it has to be documented or is baseless (so you cant retain it in ones physical memory) or better put HEAR SAY. By not allowing DWP room to breath you force them to bring it out into the open which means its now up to them to prove your guilt, not you your innocence (called the presumption of innocence). If they have no basis, they have to drop it and destroy all relevant data surrounding it as the exemption no longer covers it.
DWP DONT have any legal right what’s so ever to monitor you between meetings hence why for instance its up to the claimant to provide their work evidence. Without good cause its an evasion of privacy, its as simple as that.

How comes DWP publicly claims that information is wiped after a certain period of time, which runs counter for the need to be able to check for fraud etc, and bring charges if the evidence emerges at a later date – even years later? Yet when public/claimants request said data they are told it does not exist?

It appears to me enough is enough and that peace CAN NEVER REIGN while we the citizens of the world allow such governments be it deliberate or otherwise to make decisions for us that only serve to create even more instability.
If the whole world really wanted peace, really wanted to stem the tide of wild sporadic killings like Orlando or even that of MP Cox, then each respective countries citizens would demand their country stop the production of weapons that not only deal the death we are lied about to but would also prevent such weapons that as we speak routinely end up in the hands of madmen,murders and terrorists.

According to Iain Duncan Smith our own unemployed will fill the gap, although, for instance, how in hell somebody on Universal Credit is London would be able to take up casual agricultural work in Cornwall is a mystery. The heaviest areas of unemployment are urban not rural so how farmers are going to recruit the labour they need from our home grown jobless is a mystery.

Not quite Iris as statistically and i did point this out about a think tank post i gave, unemployment is higher in suburban areas than cities. Suburban areas sit squarely next to rural areas and sadly do fall within the 90 min travel rule.

I’ve always wondered how somebody on the minimum wage could afford to travel for 90 minutes a day to work and back on public transport. Do bus and train services really exist which could take people in cities out into the heart of the country to do farm work and similar? I can’t help but think that there can’t be too many people who easily get to isolated farms in the countryside on buses, let alone trains with all the branch lines closed. Some probably could to some location but surely, in general, travel like that would be too expensive and impossible in most circumstances. A job 90 minutes away might as well be in Australia if you have no reliable means to get to it.

Iris, its an age old profession that’s often organized by agencies who meet workers at the local town to the farm and ferry them their. Usually they hire some retired person to drive them although i have seen farmers themselves or one of the main farm hands run a van also.
I know a min wage worker traveling 90 min isn’t worth it but DWP as you know don’t care. Employers are not stupid though and often wont hire a person who travels that far for a low paid job knowing theirs no longevity in it as the individual would in short time find a job closer to home. On top if it was me even though i pride myself on being always early, i wouldn’t lose any sleep if say i missed my train or it got delayed, all things an employer don’t want hence often only hiring local or near.

90 MIN TRAVEL RULE, the truth, the myth.
DWP may well be able to dictate this 90 min rule but what they cant dictate is how a person gets to work SO a claimant is quite reasonably and legally right to say they walk to work and DWP cant do anything about it.
If we look at average walking pace, a person will only have traveled around 5 miles in 90 min.
DWP cant tell a claimant how to travel to work,cant tell a claimant how to spend their wages, how to live their working day.

Well here a classic example of how DWP and the courts failed in that very regard AND THUS PROVING MY VERY POINT.

This is from the loony bin Scottish Parliament; a Bill designed to criminalise every man in Scotchland, the proposals have been watered down slightly through the consultation process as it passed through the nut-house. This story has got fuck all to do with benefit fraud! It is about some bloke alleging stealing benefit money to pay for a penis enlargement. Him alleging turning violent and becoming the subject of a restraining order and being pulled up before the bench for allegedly breaching it. Interestingly, the woman in question appeared to have £1,000 of disability and child benefits just lying around for this bloke to allegedly put down as a down payment on a dick op.

This interesting piece rather than highlighting unemployment fraud, uncovers 33 millions worth of fraud in housing benefit,pensions and rates evaders.
Sadly the article does not explain where and where all the 33 million in fraud was specifically located but it would suggest the three mentioned are the particular main ones.
Also sadly we don’t get a break down of over payment of housing benefit Vs housing benefit fraud.
It also goes on to highlight how blue badges and travel passes aren’t returned after the original holder has died.
I highlighted a long while back on another website how had DWP carried out proper checks that fraud would be so much very less not to mention how it would be impossible to benefit by using a dead persons identity. All i got though was people saying that’s not the point, so caught up in the shock of that a person would do such a thing and how he deserved to be punished and that that was the point, well if it isn’t then why is it so wide spread and why now by doing proper checks by cross referencing databases is it all now getting exposed ?

Leadsom has a “passion” for social justice which, in modern Tory speak, usually means crack the whip at and cut benefits to the poor (to “encourage” them to do better) and cut tax and other costs to the rich (to “encourage” them to invest and spend more). Greater Manchester is one of four pilot areas in the UK to be awarded £5.2m in funding from Department Communities and Local Government (DCLG) and European Social Fund (ESF), to deliver a Mental Health and Employment Trailblazer that aims to help unemployed people into sustained employment.
Greater Manchester (GM) is the first area in the UK to go live with the Mental Health and Employment Trailblazer, by incorporating the commissioning of a Mental Health Talking Therapies Service into the Working Well Expansion Programme. The Working Well programme is due to receive 15,000 referrals from March 2016-March 2017; referrals will be from Jobcentre Plus and from GPs in four pilot areas (Bury, Manchester, Wigan and Tameside). It is anticipated that 2,000 clients will receive lower level mental health support, with around 1,000 receiving Talking Therapies.
Greater Manchester has made a clear commitment as part of GM Health and Social Care devolution to support GM residents to become economically active, and by supporting unemployed residents with mental health issues move into employment and support them in work it is hoped that this will be one way this will be achieved. Working Well clients will receive keyworker support for up to two years on programme and one year of in-work support. If a client requires an IAPT intervention, they will receive an initial appointment within two weeks of referral. The client, keyworker and IAPT practitioner will work together to support the clinical issues in conjunction with the psycho-social issues, such as debt, social isolation & housing issues.
GM is expecting that a minimum of 20% of Working Well clients will gain employment and 15% will sustain the employment for at least 12 months, it is expected that all clients participating on the Working Well Programme will receive the support they require to improve their quality of life.

The NAO report, released today, found the two members of staff had awarded the payments “to inflate off-flow as a measure of jobcentre performance”.

Hye-Min Park is 16 and lives in the affluent Seoul district of Gangnam, made famous by the pop star Psy. Her day is typical of that of the majority of South Korean teenagers.
She rises at 6.30am, is at school by 8am, finishes at 4pm, (or 5pm if she has a club), then pops back home to eat.

– And this ignores everything that happened before. Like when the executives borrowed money against the employees pension fund to give themselves nice fat bonuses, and then declared bankruptcy so they wouldn’t have to pay it back. This type of thing is a lot lower on the list of debts to get fulfilled when a company goes under, and that’s exactly what they took advantage of. The employees got royally screwed when the pensions funds were raided and then bankrupted. But according to this article, it was all the union’s fault. Bullcrap.

The governance of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland should be reinvented within a new voluntary union in a bid to save the UK from disintegration, an independent all-party group of experts will argue this week.
The Constitution Reform Group, convened by former Conservative cabinet minister Lord Salisbury, is to make the the case for radical constitutional change in the UK by claiming the need has been boosted by the vote to leave the European Union.
Their proposals say the existing union should be replaced with fully devolved government in each part of the UK, with each given full sovereignty over its own affairs. The Westminster parliament, the group says, should then be reduced to 146 MPs. The individual nations and regions of the UK would then be encouraged to pool sovereignty to cover the matters they wish to be dealt with on a shared basis.

“If you’re a woman, you still earn less than a man. If you suffer from mental health problems, there’s too often not enough help to hand. If you’re young, you’ll find it harder than ever before to own your own home.”
She said that “fighting these injustices is not enough”, and added: “If you’re from a working-class family, life is just much harder than many people in politics realise.”
She also said politicians often failed to realise how hard life was for working-class families.

OT: Adventures in DWP Land – Work Roaches/Roach Managers out of Control
Interesting events.
I remembered that everything on dwp systems are backed up and wondered why the dropped off CC hadn’t been requested when Work Roach & Roach Manager became aware it was missing when they found out all my records [everything about me basically] had dropped off [nope, it was all deleted] the system.
I have never heard such unconvincing back peddling in my life – which they subsequently blew a hole in later.
What made it even more obvious that a certain amount of panic surrounds this is that its apparently a common thing. Yeah, Right. Really?
Unfortunately Work Roach then confirmed If I had answered in the negative about the need for a CC which came from the Roach Manager, the claim would have been closed – so, if manager asks that question – conveniently temporarily losing the CC is that not a fit up?
Oh, the work roach [an ex-manager to boot] did not believe DWP for the organization, or building needed a Information Act Data Protection Officer when I asked for that persons details. Okay…. Really? Reconfirmed that. [does this indicate to anyone else that the alarm bells are going off in the building at stating this non-existence?]. Problem, my department was one of the 1st gov departments to introduce the act – central to that was the appointment of a Senior Data Protection Officer. It appears in my case such does not exist. And also was unwilling to search for such a person for that reason. So I asked for the name and details of the Deputy Secretary of DWP and surprise surprise Work Roach did not know who that was or how to find details. You know the person who fronts the inhouse staff bulletin. Really?
There is however a sting in the tail – I was told that I was going to have to use UJM. I pointed out that its rubbish, won a award or worst recruitment site in the UK and on top of that, cannot be mandated.
I bring this up for the following reason: Apparently DWP Internal Audit Unit checks INTO UJM accounts and as a result point out where they are not being used in order for Managers to order use thereafter.
Really?
