McDonnell: A Working Class Hero is something he is.

Jeremy Corbyn has unveiled what he called a “unifying” new shadow cabinet, naming his left-wing ally John McDonnell as shadow chancellor.

A short while ago….

John McDonnell speech: MP says he would ‘swim through vomit’ to oppose ‘sickening’ welfare bill.

Comrade McDonnell is simply the best.

  2. Some woman on LBC cracking up at Nick Abbot (Two ‘b’s one ‘t’) on LBC after she told him that she was about to be made homeless because of welfare ‘reforms’: “I’m aghast”, “How can you just be aghast when I have told you that I am about to be made homeless?”, “Well, I hope it doesn’t come to that and you find a way out. Thank you for your call”. Jeez, what the fuck can a guy on the radio do – seriously!

  3. On the latest TVs you can sign-in to your account to view ‘pay for’ content via Facial Recognition. You can also create an account via Facebook so your TV account and Facebook account are linked.

This is all to ‘soften us up’ for intrusive ‘facial recognition’ technology. Creepy Facebook are investing heavily heavily in facial recognition technology and is probably part of the raison d’être for their sinister website. Facebook has already trialled facial recognition cameras in shops linked to your Facebook account.

Facebook already track you around the web even when you are not logged into your Facebook account i;e; if you don’t take any ‘precaution’ Facebook will know and link to your Facebook account that you visit ‘the Void’.

Your face is going to become the equivalent of what and ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera is to a car. At present you can go virtually nowhere without being observed on a CCTV camera. Once facial recognition technology becomes as prevalent as CCTV now you will be able to go virtually nowhere without being observed and recognisedand the details of all your movements being recorded on a gigantic database as is currently the case with vehicle movements.

    • And it may be case that jobcentres will move away from electronic signing and be demanding a ‘facial scan’ which can be added to the ‘National Database’

      • There is a programme running on Channel 4 at present: Hunted. On the first episode one of the ‘hunted’ said to another ‘hunted’: “Turn away, that is a Facebook facial recognition camera up there”. And then there was a shot of some really odd looking camera.

      • We all know that Facebook is bad. But Facebook relies on ‘peer pressure’ to obtain sign-ups: “You not got a Facebook account?! What’s wrong with you”. School-kids are signed up to Facebook for crying out loud. Now employers ‘expect’ you to have a Facebook account or you must have ‘something to hide’.

Also Facebook is being increasingly used as a ‘gateway’ to other sites: you have to go through Facebook to ‘verify’ your ‘Real ID’ before you can sign-up, post a comment etc.

And Facebook is demanding ‘proof’ of ‘Real ID’ i.e passport, driving licence, Government issued ID cards etc…

Facebook is about as creepy as creepy comes!

    • The answer is easy – delete your Facebook account and refuse to use this kind of technology. It stands to reason that if you’re stupid enough to put your information online, then organisations such as Facebook (and therefore GCHQ/NSA) are going to utilise that information. You have to remember that once you upload anything to Facebook that it’s no longer yours, but belongs to Facebook for them to do whatever they want with it. No one twists your arm to get a Facebook account.

  6. Labour’s new shadow work and pensions secretary has promised to abandon the language of “strivers and scroungers” and signalled a change in tone from his predecessor, who had promised Labour would be tougher on welfare than the Conservatives.

Owen Smith said he wanted to turn the social security system into something voters could be proud of, and would work to persuade “everybody in Britain to feel once more that it was a positive thing to have a generous and supportive welfare state”.

“We have to represent all of the people in the UK, and that includes people who are in work and out of work,” he said. “Setting one group against another is precisely what the Tories have been doing for the last six years. We have to unite people and not paint one set of people as strivers and the other as shirkers. That isn’t the reality.”

  10. In the first live media interview ever given by a senior British intelligence official, Parker defended the British surveillance system and backed the government’s plans for new surveillance powers.

The interview, on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, came after the home secretary, Theresa May,summoned the biggest US internet providers and British phone companies to a meeting on Tuesday to seek their support for her new “snooper’s charter’’ surveillance bill.

The investigatory powers legislation is expected to include powers to require the internet and phone companies to collect and store for 12 months the internet browsing browsing histories of their customers along with detailed records of voice calls, messaging and text services.

It would also require the companies, including those based abroad such as Google, and Facebook, to give the police and security services access to this bulk data of their customers.
